Get to Know Me

Hello!

I'm so glad you stopped by my little corner of the blogging world. I would love to tell you a little bit about myself. So, grab a cup of your favorite beverage (mine is a nice cup of hot tea) and put your feet up because us moms need to do that once in awhile.

1. My heart belongs to Jesus Christ.

There is no other person who can guide, comfort, heal, and support me more than my savior Jesus Christ. I know without a doubt He is always with me no matter what path life brings me down whether smooth or rocky.

2. I am married to a wonderful man.

He is an awesome husband and father. He works as a resident heavy equipment mechanic which keeps him very busy. Our son absolutely loves the fact that his dad has a huge service truck with a crane and works on big equipment.

3. God blessed us with one amazing son.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't give thanks to God for such a wonderful gift. It took us almost 12 years of dealing with infertility to have a child. There were more trips to the doctor than I can count and numerous tests. Through the tears and tremendous amounts of praying and then the loss of one child we were finally blessed from God with a son.

People have asked us why we don't adopt. God never put adoption on our hearts. So, we put our trust and faith in him and he blessed us. Around our home we call our son Little Man. His ultimate hero is his dad. And, I wouldn't have it any other way.

4. I love being a mother!

I waited, dreamed, and hoped about being a mother for years. Although there are times when being a mother is hard, I look at our son and remember how precious a gift God has entrusted to us. Time is fleeting. I don't want to waste a moment of it.

5. I am an organizer and planner.

I feel so much more in control when I have a plan for the day or anything else for that matter. And, I relish beautiful planners and notebooks to write down all those great notes and plans. My day is so much more pleasant when I have something beautiful to open up to start my day's tasks.

6. I treasure books!

I am passionate about books! The real deal hardcover books. There is something special about having a book with paper pages to turn. Oh, and I love the smell of a book! Ok, I know that is weird, but truly there is something about the warm and comforting feeling it creates. And, I love going to a good old fashioned library. Especially one with the dark wood and the library tables with the little lamps. Oh, how heavenly!

7. I am an old-fashioned kinda gal.

I love simple, old-fashioned ways. And, I love old-fashioned values.

I try to live simply without so much media and consumerism. A lot of STUFF can be nerve-wracking. I am definitely not a hoarder. When I work at limiting these things in our lives I find that we are much happier and contented. I also believe it allows us to raise our son to be more creative.

8. We live in the city.

But, I would give my right arm to live in the country. I grew up in the country and you know what they say, "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl." Alas, moving to the country isn't quite in the budget. But, I can still have it on my wish list. ;)

9. I love camping and hiking.

Plus, the RV with a bathroom (oh, yeah!) makes it so much more enjoyable. Spending time outdoors with my family is some of my most treasured times. I especially enjoy sitting around a campfire at night under a star filled sky looking up and feeling so full of awe at the enormousness of God's creation. It warms and excites my heart knowing I belong to such a wonderful Father in heaven.

In a nutshell . . .

this is who I am, mostly.
I am also tenderhearted and cry easily during life's heart tugging moments.
I am a thinker who likes to contemplate the things of life.
I am a doer and a helper.
And, I am a hopeful Christian. Hopeful about seeing my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ someday.
